Hi, I’m Wonka, as in Willy Wonka. If you call me Willy I’ll come running! Don’t let my handsome gray face fool you, at 10 months old and 51 pounds, I’m a still a pup!

Foster mom says I’m gentle, goofy, and very good natured. They also say I’m food motivated. I’m not sure what they mean, but it’s true that I’ll do almost anything for a treat. Playing with my furry foster family is one of my favorite things. We’ll run like crazy around the yard or roll around in the floor gently wresting with each other. I love sturdy chew toys and chasing any kind of ball. Foster mom says soft, squeaky toys aren’t for me. I love them to death by shredding them to bits. I’m learning how great life is when there are people to love me. Ear rubs and back scratches some of my favorites and I’ll snuggle up next to you for all the scratches you’ll offer.

My day starts around 6am. Outside to stretch and potty. Breakfast in my kennel, then I’m back outside to explore the yard. I enjoy that my family works from home and I spend my day chewing on toys, napping and playing with my friends. In the evenings, we take walks, hang out in the yard, chase lots of balls and lounge on the sofa. My day winds down around 10. I happily sleep all night in my kennel and will put myself to bed if I’m feeling extra tired. My kennel is my safe space and I don’t mind spending time there.

Foster mom tells me I’m a fast learner. What I know is that she helps me learn new things and I get lots of treats. Have I mentioned I love treats! I’ve learned that “leave it” means drop whatever wonderful things I have in my mouth. I’m a puppy, sometimes I forget I’m outside to potty. If you help me remember to potty before playing, I’ll be accident free. Getting into cars is very scary for me. Once I’m in the car it’s a smooth ride. When I’m doing new things and feeling unsure about something, patience, praise (and maybe a treat or two) help me gain confidence and learn that I’m still safe.

My perfect family will have patience to help me build my confidence and spend time introducing me to new things. A dog sibling would be a bonus!
