Hi there! I’m Whistling — a 9-month-old doodle mix weighing a perfect 22 lbs. Around here, I’m also known as Rascal, Sweet Pea, or Sweet Potato (depends on the day!). I’m my foster mom’s little shadow, happiest when I’m in my comfort zone and close to my people. I can be shy in new places or around new faces (human or dog), so slow, proper introductions help me feel safe. Once I know you, I’m a loyal buddy who loves to play, explore, and snuggle.
My mornings start around 7 AM with a quick potty break in my fenced backyard (my safe spot), then it’s breakfast time. After that, my playful side comes out — chasing balls, running speedy circles, and occasionally spotting a squirrel I just have to keep an eye on. I’m learning to walk on a leash, though sometimes I freeze up if there’s a loud noise, unfamiliar person, or another dog nearby. With time and patience, I know I’ll get more confident.
I’m fully potty trained with a schedule, and I sleep in my crate at night with my snuggle puppy and favorite toys. I’m still working on feeling comfortable when my people leave — I have a little separation anxiety, so I’d love a home where someone is around most of the time. I do best with a work-from-home parent, a flexible schedule, and no apartments or shared walls (I like my peace and quiet). I’m not a fan of cats — they scare me — and I’d prefer a home with kids 15 or older who understand my gentle, sometimes timid nature.
I’ve entered my “puppy era,” which means I’m curious and will happily explore anything left unattended (especially shoes). I don’t know many commands yet, but I do know my name and I’m eager to learn. Being a doodle, my coat and ears need regular brushing, grooming, and care to keep me healthy and prevent ear infections.
If you’ve got patience, love, and a comfy couch to share, I’m looking for someone to live out the rest of my long life with. I promise to be your sweetest little shadow — and maybe even your new best friend.
