Hi, I’m Vela! I’m a 2–3-year-old doodle mix girl, about 40 pounds, and I’m as sweet as they come. I’m a total cuddlebug at heart, especially with my foster mom. Once I trust you, I’m all in—I’ll happily soak up every pet, scratch, and snuggle you’re willing to give. I can be a little shy with new people and with men at first, but trust is something I build with time, patience, and kindness. I’m getting braver every day, and I truly enjoy being loved on.

When I’m feeling comfortable, my playful and curious side really shines. I love to run, explore, and jump, whether that’s zooming around the yard, hopping through the garden in search of rabbits, or chasing balls (I’m still figuring out the “bring it back” part). With how much I love movement and learning new things, my foster mom thinks I’d be an amazing candidate for agility training someday—it might even be my dream! Stuffed toys are one of my absolute favorites, especially when I can pull all the fluff out.

I’m smart, food motivated, and eager to learn, especially if treats are involved. My foster mom says I have pretty good manners most of the time, though I’ll admit… if something smells really good on the counter, I might do a little investigating.

My mornings don’t officially begin until my foster mom comes downstairs to let me out. I’m a bit clingy in that way and like knowing my people are close by. I dance in happy circles at mealtime and work very hard to sit politely until I’m told it’s okay to eat. During the day, I enjoy playing with my foster dog sibling, and I’ve even learned how to peacefully coexist with a cat. When my foster parents are working, I’m calm and quiet, often relaxing nearby or hanging out in my open crate, which I lovingly consider my personal girl cave.

I’m good in the car and enjoy looking out the windows, and I love going on walks while I continue practicing my leash manners. Dinner time is extremely important to me, and I’m always ready right on schedule. I’m a fan of healthy people-food snacks like carrots and eggs, and I really enjoy stuffed Kongs.

At night, I sleep in my foster parents’ room in my crate with the door open. Sometimes, if I’m invited, I’ll sneak onto the bed in the morning for a little extra love—it’s the perfect way to start the day.

I’m still learning and growing. I’m working on feeling more confident around new people, improving my leash skills, and keeping all four paws on the floor when I get excited. With the right home, continued guidance, and lots of love, I know I’ll keep blossoming into the very best girl I can be.

• Another dog sibling for play and companionship who enjoys running and wrestling
• No children under age six due to jumping
• Active family
• Fenced yard (6'-8' high)
• Flexible schedule
• Patience and commitment to continued training
