Hi, my name is Stella, though my foster family often calls me Girly-girl—and honestly, I kind of love it. I’m an 8-year-old Standard Poodle with a soft black coat, a charming white patch on my chest, and a gentle, elegant presence. I weigh around 50 pounds, and I carry myself with calm confidence (unless there’s a squirrel—more on that later).

My days start early, around 6:30am, with breakfast and a stroll around the yard to sniff out what the neighborhood wildlife has been up to. I take my job as squirrel patrol very seriously—opossums and rabbits are regular visitors, but I make sure they know who’s boss. After that, I usually go on a nice long walk. I’m a lovely walking companion—steady and polite—though I do get a little excited if I spot a squirrel. Who can blame me?

Back at home, I’m content to lounge around while my foster family goes about their day. I’m a calm and quiet companion, and I don’t need constant attention—but I do love a good chest or neck rub. If you stop too soon, I’ll gently tap your arm or leg to ask for more. It works most of the time.

I have a great appetite and think food puzzles are the best kind of challenge. I’m also learning that counters are off-limits, and I’m making good progress—though a reminder now and then never hurts. At night, I settle in perfectly. I spend time with my foster family on the big bed watching TV, then go out for a last potty break around 9:30pm. After that, I head happily into my crate with a little bedtime treat and sleep peacefully through the night.

I’d be perfectly happy as an only dog, but I also get along just fine with respectful canine companions. There’s a Boston Terrier who visits often, and we coexist peacefully—she gives me space, and I appreciate that. I’m also very polite with people and greet everyone calmly without jumping.
