Elmo‘s Story

❤️Shadow is Available❤️

Please READ the bio and adoption requirements first to make sure you are a perfect fit BEFORE APPLYING.

Hi! My name is Shadow and I am a 8-month-old gray & white brindle, super smart Male Sheepadoodle. I am a rambunctious 50Ib. boy and maybe growing more. Everybody comments on how energetic, playful, and loveable I am. I am “striking” as my brindle coat just sets off my long legs. Also, I have perfected the “walk” and if you take me out to the park, you will see the people turn their heads to see me! “What kind of pup is this?”, they will say. You see, I am one of a kind!

It has been a wonderful journey for me since I wasn’t sure what it meant to be in a loving environment and after spending time with my foster mom’s, I am comfortable. I love to give and receive snuggles and I will be loyal to my forever family. I get so excited when I see my people, I may jump on them to give them a big kiss, but I am getting better and doing this less. I love to play and play with all my toys and chew bones. My foster mom plays fetch with me and I love to chase my toys. One of my favorite things to do is find sticks in the backyard and play with those and I love to play fetch with those too! One of my foster fur siblings is about my size and we love to run, chase, and play in the backyard. I enjoy playing with my fur-sibling. I love all dogs and want to play so much, but I don’t know my own size. I am not too good with small dogs (30lbs and under) as I don't realize how big I am so I scare little dogs. I take my naps with my foster mom and siblings when she works in her home office. I love to go on walks and I am working on following commands on a leash and I am getting better and not pulling on the leash. Car rides are one of my favorite things.

I love my yard and I learned the doggy door instantly so I can go outside whenever I want, so I have not had any accidents in the house. A lot of times, I just hang out on the back patio and enjoy the sunshine so having a large yard is very important to me. I am now used to eating in the early morning and early evening. Since I do love to eat so much, I often look for food on the kitchen countertops. I have a really good reach, but I jump right off the counter when told to do so. I love a doggy treat after I eat and I will sit and wait it.

I am not crate trained and I tend to get into things when left alone. It is important to have a family who understands that I need time to decompress and leaving me alone will be a step by step process. I tend to get separation anxiety and at first I may be very clingy and stressed when you leave me. My independence has grown as I have adjusted to my foster home. I was able to be left at home alone up to 5 hours at my foster mom's but that took several weeks to build up to. I get so excited at times that I might do some zoomies, but I calm down quickly. I usually sleep on my bed next to my foster mom at night or on the cool floor, but don’t be surprised to wake up and find me on the main bed next to my foster fur siblings. My beautiful coat will require grooming and I don’t shed very much at all.

I am still working on learning basic commands, but my foster moms say I am such a quick learner and they can’t believe my transformation over the past few weeks.

I can’t wait to share all my love with my fur-ever family.
