Scooter‘s Story

Scooter is an 18 month old, 28 pound Poodle Terrier Mix. Read what he has to say about himself:
Hi my name is Scooter! I was found as a stray and taken to a local pound. Thank goodness DRR found me as I was terribly nervous in that place. Now I’m with my foster family. The first day I was anxious as I didn’t know what to expect. After investigating the house and meeting my fur friends I calmed down and fit right in! I love to run and play, play, play with my three fur friends. Well, one is 13 so she won’t play but I am very respectful of her. The other two are my buds – one is slightly larger than me and the other is smaller by about 10 pounds. The pound told DRR that I really don’t like really big dogs. I just got groomed and I think I am extremely handsome!
What I’m looking for in a forever family:
I do have energy so other dog(s) in my forever home are a must!
Kids would be great, but not too small as I do like to jump up on my humans. I get sooo excited when they come home!
Either a doggy door or folks who are not gone from home too long. I love attention and want to run and play!
Toys – these are great! My foster family has a bucket of them that I can take out and play with anytime!
Humans to snuggly with once I’m done playing. I love having my tummy and back scratched!
Things to know about me:
I’m potty trained – I even know to ring the bell when I want to go outside.
I do really well on a leash/harness. Sniffing the grass on walks is one of my all time favorites!
When I get excited I’m a bit “mouthy”. I don’t bite but I’m trying to break this habit so my new family will need to help me too. I just thought this was the way to play with humans since it is how I play with fur friends.
I love attention – I was abandoned so I need reassurance that I am loved.
I do not like a crate. It reminds me of the pound. I have done well sleeping on the floor and occasionally jump up on the bed to see my humans…
I still need to gain a few pounds – I got a bit skinny while wandering around on my own.
I want a forever family to love and play with me. My foster mommy says I am very loyal and will make a family or someone special the best pal ever. Please adopt me so I can scoot right into your heart!

Scooter is fully vaccinated, HW-, sterilized and microchipped.
