Hello, everyone! I’m Ridge—a 5-year-old, 48-pound doodle with lots of poodle in me, a handsome blonde curly coat, and big brown eyes that I’ve been told are pretty hard to resist.

My foster mom calls me her gentle giant. I’ve been through some tough things, so when we first meet, I might hang back and take a little time to decide if everything is safe. I have a tender heart, and I don’t give my trust away immediately. But once you have it? You get the real Ridge: sweet, affectionate, playful, and completely devoted to his people.

I’m also a pretty smart guy. I know sit, come, and even handshake, because apparently being handsome wasn’t enough. I walk nicely on leash, figured out the doggy door in record time, and LOVE car rides. Open the door and I’m ready. I don’t necessarily know where we’re going, but that feels like a minor detail.

I love running and playing outside with my foster dog sibling, and I’m learning this whole “toy” thing too. Turns out they’re pretty fun! When playtime is over, I’m equally happy cuddling on the couch or following you from room to room. I’m a certified Velcro pup. You’ll rarely have to wonder where Ridge is because the answer is probably “right behind you.”

I’m fully potty trained and have been a perfect gentleman when left home alone. I’m not crate trained because, so far, I haven’t needed one. I might worry a little when you first leave, but having another dog around helps me settle and reminds me that my people always come back.

I do have a few requests. I prefer having my own space while I eat because another dog approaching my food can make me nervous. I’m doing great taking treats alongside my foster friends, though! Loud noises and sudden movements can also startle me, so a home without young children would help me feel most comfortable.

My dream is a patient, loving family who will let me stay close, continue building my confidence, and understand that the best relationships sometimes take a little time. Someone home often would be wonderful, and I’d love a compatible dog friend. A secure yard for running, exploring, and playing would be the cherry on top.

I may take a little time to give you my trust, but once I decide you’re my person, I’m all in.

I’m Ridge, and I’m ready for the part of my story where I get to feel safe, loved, and home—for good.
