Hi, my name is Posie, and I’m a 1-year-old, 50-pound doodle girl who is still learning what it means to feel safe and loved. I didn’t always know kindness, so it takes me a little time to trust new people. But once I decide you’re mine, I mean it with my whole heart. I’m gentle, sweet, and quietly hopeful, and I’d love nothing more than to have a family who understands that love is something I’m still learning to accept.
The outside world is where I feel the most like myself. Fresh air, sunshine, and room to run make me light up, and I really need at least one playful dog buddy to help me feel confident and keep me company. I love spending time outdoors, running around, and just enjoying life the way I always should have. And of course, I love food. Dinner time is one of my favorite parts of the day, and if you happen to have cheese cubes… well, I might just become your biggest fan.
I’m still a bit shy and timid, and I can get scared by loud noises or sudden movements. I don’t like when people walk straight toward me, but if you give me space and let me come to you, I’ll slowly build up the courage to say hello. I’m not trying to be difficult—I’m just learning that people can be safe. Patience and a calm home would mean everything to me.
My routine is pretty simple, and I like it that way. First thing in the morning, I absolutely need to go potty right away. After that comes breakfast, and then I spend most of my day lounging, napping, and playing with my foster brother. I go outside often for potty breaks, and as long as I stick to my schedule, I do really well. At night, I happily head to the bedroom and sleep on my own bed next to my foster parents, where I sleep soundly all night like the little angel they say I am.
I’ll admit, I struggle with separation anxiety. I’ll go into my crate on my own, but when my people leave, I bark because I miss them and I worry they won’t come back. I’m not proud of it, but I’m being honest. I’m also still learning commands—my foster dad keeps saying something about “sit,” and I’m not totally sure what that means yet. If you’re willing to teach me with kindness and consistency, I’m ready to learn.
I may be a little shy at first, but underneath that timid exterior is a loving, loyal girl who wants so badly to belong. If you have patience, a calm heart, and maybe a playful dog friend waiting for me, I think I could be the best thing that ever happens to your home.
