HELLO! My name is Paxton and I’m a 2 year-old, male Sheepadoodle and weigh around 60ish pounds. Allow me to introduce myself…

I have to be honest, I’m still learning how to be a dog in some ways. The normal stuff like potty and crate training I have down SOLID. Knowing to trust people, even looking at people, understanding what it’s like to feel safe, knowing it’s ok to play with toys… those are all things I’m still learning. Please know it may take me a few days, but once I know you love me and I can trust you I AM YOUR BEST FRIEND. And I’m so gentle with zero mean streak or aggression in me. I’d make a great companion. I’m pretty chill so other dogs are cool but I like one that matches my energy.

I am so easy. I wake up on my bed next to my fosters’ bed when they wake up. I eat and go outside to take care of business. Then I really just lay around and hang around all day. Foster dad works from home and I’m his intern laying next to him but not making a peep. I eat dinner after foster mom gets home and then it’s more hanging out inside, any yard time I want, all until it’s time for bed again. It’s an easy life.

Like I said, I’m still working on that it’s ok to be a dog that’s loved and how to have fun. These things are new for me, hence the initial trust issues. I respond GREAT to positive reinforcement though. I’ve even learned it’s ok to take treats out of hands. I’m a huge fan now. Cheese = life. I get spooked at loud noises or sudden movements/outbursts, probably something from my past so please be calm and reassuring with me.
