Hi, I’m Par! I’m an almost 2-year-old, 35-pound female poodle mix with a sweet, playful personality and so much love to give. I can be a little timid when we first meet, but I warm up quickly and once I know you’re my person, you can expect to have the cutest little shadow following you everywhere.
I love toys, chasing balls, running around with my foster dog siblings, and curling up next to my people for a nap. I’m an epic cuddler and will happily spend the day close to you, then greet you with excited spins when you come home. I’m especially wonderful with kids and currently adore my 4-year-old foster sister, who actually helped me come out of my shell! I’m gentle with her, take treats nicely, don’t jump on people, and love when she pets me, plays with me, throws my toys, or even dresses me up. I’m also comfortable with men and have become great friends with my foster dad and brother.
I’m pretty easygoing at home. I love sleeping in bed with my people and barely move all night, but I’m also crate trained and comfortable in my kennel. I usually start my morning with a quick potty break and breakfast around 7:30, spend the day playing, napping, and hanging out with my foster family, and have dinner around 6 before another round of zoomies. I can typically go 4–6 hours between potty breaks, don’t have separation anxiety, and can be trusted to leave things alone that aren’t mine. Around other dogs, I prefer having my own space for meals and happily eat in my kennel.
I’m still mastering one important skill: potty training. I was previously taught to use potty pads, so I’m learning a whole new routine. I’m doing great going pee outside, but pooping outside is taking me a little longer because I prefer privacy, a familiar spot, and can get distracted easily. A fenced yard and a patient, consistent family will give me the best chance of mastering it. I walk great on a leash and am also working on sit, stay, and place. Car rides make me nervous right now, so I’ll need a little patience while I build confidence with those too.
I absolutely thrive with companionship and would love having a playful dog sibling in my forever home. I can also be an only dog, but if I am, I’ll need a work-from-home parent so I can have the companionship I love throughout the day. My curly coat doesn’t shed, but it can mat easily, so regular brushing and professional grooming will be important.
