Hi, I’m Nellie — a 38-pound mix of goofy energy, soft snuggles, and just enough mischief to keep life interesting. I’m a young girl with a big heart, and I think every day is a chance to play, explore, and love my people with my whole self. I’m the type who believes every person I meet wants a hug, which is why I do best in a home with kids 8 or older who understand my excitement.

I’m what you might call a Velcro dog — if you stand up, I stand up; if you walk, I’m trotting right behind you. I love being close, soaking up belly rubs, and turning into a lap puddle at every opportunity. I also have plenty of zoomies stored up, so an active family who likes fun outings and little adventures would make me the happiest girl. A fenced yard is a must for me since running out my wiggles is one of my greatest joys.

My days are full of playtime, big naps, snuggles, and practicing my manners. I start my mornings with breakfast and a quick potty break, followed by a walk or some backyard fun. Once I’ve gotten that energy out, I crash hard — being adorable takes effort. I spend the afternoon being your loyal shadow, then finish the day with dinner, more yard time, and all the cuddles I can gather. On weekends, I’m always ready for car rides and tagging along on whatever adventure you’ve got planned.

I’m still learning how to walk politely on a leash because the world is exciting and I sometimes forget not to pull. I’m working on basic commands too — treats and praise help a lot. Since I’m more puppy than adult in many ways, I’ll need someone with patience who can help me grow into the best version of myself. I would love another dog sibling to show me the ropes, and I really thrive with a flexible schedule because being home alone for long stretches isn’t my favorite.

- Patience while I continue my training, as I’m more puppy than adult
