Howdy y’all, I’m Monty—and if you’re looking for a loyal little buddy to keep you company, I might just be the one. I was found as a stray, so my past is a bit of a mystery, but the nice vet thinks I’m at least 10 years old. I’m a 15-pound poodle mix with a soft coat, a calm spirit, and a heart full of love to give.

Life moves a little slower for me these days. I walk a bit sideways and can be unsteady on my feet, but that doesn’t stop me from being a good boy. I get along just fine with other dogs, cats, and even polite little humans—but because I’m easy to knock over, I’d do best in a home without young kids running around. I’m happiest when I’m close to my people, whether that’s snuggled on the couch or just quietly keeping you company.

Don’t let the wobbles fool you—I actually do enjoy casual strolls. I like to take my time, sniffing absolutely everything along the way. Exploring is one of my favorite parts of the day, and I approach it all with quiet curiosity and that classic poodle dignity.

My days are pretty simple. I sleep quietly in my crate all night and start my morning around 6:30. I take my time going outside—especially if the grass is wet—then I have breakfast and settle in for a nap with my foster dad. I’m not a long-distance walker, but I do appreciate short, slow adventures and plenty of downtime with a few potty breaks and lots of couch time in between.

I haven’t learned tricks like “sit” or “stay,” but I’m gentle, quiet, and easy to manage. I can’t jump on furniture without help, and stairs are a challenge—going up is okay, but coming down is tricky. I’d love a calm, cozy home where someone is around most of the time and doesn’t mind giving me a boost or keeping a watchful eye while I do my little puttering.

I may be a little wobbly, but I’ve got a steady heart. If you’ve got a soft spot for the slower-paced, sweeter things in life, I’d love to be your shadow.
