Hi, I’m Missy! I’m a 2.5-year-old Aussiedoodle, about 38 pounds, with a big personality and an even bigger love for playtime. If you see me carrying a ball, I’m politely asking for a game of fetch! I have lots of energy and absolutely love long walks and backyard zoomies, so I’m looking for an active home that will include me in daily exercise and fun.
Because I thrive on activity, I would do best in a home with a fenced yard where I can safely run and burn off energy. Apartment living or homes with shared walls aren’t the right fit for me, as I can be vocal when I’m unsure. Once I’ve had my exercise, I’m happy to relax nearby—especially if belly rubs are included.
I’m very devoted to my people and love being close to them. I can be unsure when meeting new people and may be vocal or hesitant while I take time to assess new situations. Because of this, I’ll need a patient, experienced adopter who can guide me with consistency and positive reinforcement. My foster family takes a slow, structured approach with introductions, especially starting outside in the yard, and having my ball with me helps a ton. It gives me something familiar and positive to focus on while I get comfortable. With the right support, I continue to gain confidence and show just how sweet and affectionate I truly am.
I can also be a bit nervous when meeting new dogs. I live with several foster dog siblings and love wrestling and playing with them. However, I may not get along with every dog and will communicate when I’m uncomfortable, so thoughtful, gradual introductions are important.
I’m still learning boundaries and do best in a calm, predictable environment. I’ll need proper, structured introductions when guests come into the home so I can feel comfortable and set up for success. A low traffic home without children would be best for me. I’m not currently a good fit for dog parks or busy patios. I need an adopter who is committed to continuing my training and helping me feel safe and secure. In return, I promise to be a loyal, loving companion, always ready for the next adventure or a cozy night by your side
