Lulu‘s Story
Hello, my name is Lulu and I am ready to start the next chapter of life with a new family! I. am a 5 years 8 months, 60-pound Labradoodle, My old family was AWESOME, but things change in human lives; and I am embracing the change! I have a few minor requests for my new owners. One, please be crate trained. Look, they said my foster mom was crate trained, but it took her THREE nights to realize I don’t go in there all night. Sure, if you have an emergency and need to run out the door AND if you have something to barter (bread, maybe?) I will reluctantly await your return from the crate, but crates aren’t for sleeping. Speaking of sleeping, experienced dog owners know that beds are for ALL of us. If you know this, we may proceed. If you wish to push me off whilst I pretend to be deaf, but allow me to be in the same room as you sleeping, we may proceed.
I would also like my family to like big dog games, or that game where I pretend I am not a big dog and you pretend too! Full body hugs are the best, and finding your face when you hide under the pillows, ahh that’s a good time. But I don’t have to find your face in the pillows, because I am nearly as tall as you! I can jump right up and kiss you any ole time. I love human kisses, it just brightens my day to sneak my slobbery tongue out and steal one! Slobbery, well, I didn’t realize this was a thing, until I overheard my foster mom saying I was a “messy eater” and slobbered a bit much. I think it’s worse when I am nervous, but if a little dog drool here and there is a deal killer, than we shall not proceed.
Any points I lose for the slobber thing is probably over ruled by the fact you can Craig’s list that vacuum! Yep, you heard me right, I am not a shedder; no hairs shall be left behind! I get along great with other dogs; and I hope you are leash trained, because I have it down pat and you can take me EVERY where with you. I love to ride in the car with you while you run errands or grab a bite to eat.
If you promise to take my bark alerts seriously, then I will promise to come when I am called. Seriously, I don’t even mind coming in from outside, just say my name, say my name. Or even better, just come outside with me; I don’t let you go to the bathroom by yourself so I don’t expect to either, fair is fair.
The littlest of Little humans might be overwhelmed by all the love I have to give. My foster sister (she’s 7) is SUPER bossy and I totally listen to her, but sometimes she tattles on me for no apparent reason!
Assuming we are still proceeding, I think I have covered the must-have’s from my new owners. Oh, one last thing, I prefer my daily allergy medicine in peanut butter, any brand.
If you are still with me; let’s do this! This post is now open for comments and questions and I will have my foster mom dictate my answers as soon as she reads them to me!
Love, Lulu
