Hi my name is Lolita (but my foster parents call me Lola). I am approximately 1.5 years old, Female Goldendoodle mix, and 42lbs.
I really love to be close to my people. Have another furry friend? I'm totally up for a playmate or two, but may need some alone time to do my potty business. I was a stray for a while, so I can be a little skittish around loud noises and some people (until I warm up to them of course). I'm a good car-rider, and I get along with people and other dogs at the dog park. I look forward to walking around the neighborhood and also just chilling with my mom on the sofa. I don't really like my crate, but I'll go in it if you reward me with a treat. I enjoy playing keep-away with my toys and like to chomp on my chew toy occassionally. Oh also, I am a champ at letting you know that someone is outside. I'll protect you from the Amazon delivery man or any other person that may be strolling by.
My schedule starts around 7:00 - 7:30 am. I take a potty break, get lots of love and petting, and I may play toss the toy for a bit. Then I eat my breakfast. If I'm lucky, we get to go walk in the neighborhood for up to a mile! Off and on, I hang out with my foster mom while she works. Sometimes she has to leave for a while but always comes back. I take naps and potty breaks off and on until dinner around 5:30. I definitely like to play or run around in the evening. Then it's cozy time until we go to bed around 9:30-10:00. I prefer to sleep on the floor or even a bed, but my crate can be cozy too.
I'm still working on my manners, trying not to jump on people and remember to use my mouth on only my toys. Also, when people come to my house, I have a tendency to bark at them (sometimes for quite a while) before I can calm down and accept them as an important visitor. Sometimes treats help, and sometimes I just need to be by myself for a bit.
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
- Kids aged 10 and up – a calmer environment helps me thrive
- A semi-active family that’s not too chaotic, so I don’t get overwhelmed
- A securely fenced yard where I can safely explore and play
- Ideally, someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule – I do best when I’m not alone for too long
- Patience and consistency with training, especially when guests arrive – I’m still learning how to handle all the excitement!
- I’d love a doggy sibling but need one who’s patient and understands when I’m ready to keep playing (even if they’re not!). If you’re an experienced dog owner who knows how to guide me and help me read other dogs’ cues, I’d be so grateful! With the right training and attention, I’ll truly shine in your home.
If you meet all of the requirements and live within 1,000 miles of Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, please apply at www.doodlerockrescue.org
Lolita is fully vaccinated, HW-, sterilized and microchipped.
