Hi, I’m Honda, my foster family calls me Hondo. I answer to answer to both. I’m a 3 year old, male poodle mix. I’m 23 pounds of curly, fuzzy, love.

Foster mom calls me sweet and mischievous. When I want your attention, I’ll boop you with my nose or maybe nibble a little on your socks or shirt sleeve. I’m a pretty easy going guy that loves my breakfast and dinner, but don’t watch me eat. It makes me nervous. I love to be outside to do zoomies around the yard, explore all the great smells or just catch a nap in the sun. Squeaky, fluffy toys are some of my favorite inside toys. When I can’t find one, I’m happy to substitute a sock, Kleenex, remote control, I’m not picky. Turns out, foster mom and dad are picky and I’m learning they don’t let me play with those things. I want to be close to my people and I happily follow along anywhere you’ll allow me to go.

I start my day at 6:30 with a romp around the backyard, breakfast and then some more outside play time. My foster family works from home, so I spend my day playing with my new furry friends, napping, and watching everything outside. I don’t mind going to my kennel if they need to leave for a few hours. I help my furry foster brother make sure nobody forgets dinner is at 5:00. In the evening, I enjoy a walk, playtime in the backyard, and some snuggles on the sofa. Bedtime is around 10:00. I’d love to sleep in bed with you, but I’m willing to sleep in my kennel.

I want to be a good boy and I try really hard. I’m learning it’s not ok to mark my territory inside. It helps if someone goes outside with me and reminds me to “go bathroom”. I love people so much that I jump on them. Foster mom and dad are helping me learn to sit and wait for a good scratch. Loud noises and voices make me a little jumpy. But, I’m so curious that I’ll cautiously check out everything. I promise if you keep plenty of toys and bones around for me, I’ll try to remember not to steal socks or shoes or other wonderfully stinky things.
