Hi there. I’m Hachie, a one year old, 40 pound poodle mix and a full time love bug. I am absolutely convinced I am a lap dog and will happily curl up as close to you as possible whenever the opportunity arises. If you are sitting down, there is a very good chance I am already on my way over.
Before Doodle Rock Rescue found me, I was a stray, and that part of my story explains a lot about my big feelings and my big voice. I am still learning that the world is safe and that I am loved, and every day I get a little better at trusting that good things are here to stay.
My mornings start bright and early around 6 30, which is perfect because mornings are one of my favorite times of day. I love stretching my legs, taking a quick stroll around the backyard, and heading straight to breakfast, which I consider a daily highlight. After that, it is playtime with my foster brother, and we can keep the fun going for quite a while before our neighborhood walk.
When my foster mom starts work, I take my job as her loyal assistant very seriously. I keep close, rest my head on her lap, and follow her from room to room to make sure she never forgets how important pets and affection are. I love toys of all kinds and proudly carry them out into the yard like prized possessions. I am very food motivated, so dinner around 5 30 is another exciting moment in my day. Treats help me focus, which makes training something I truly enjoy. I already know sit and stay, and with consistency and patience, I am eager to keep learning and showing off how smart I can be.
I enjoy walks and exploring the world, but meeting other dogs up close can feel overwhelming right now. I truly like other dogs, but I need slow, thoughtful introductions and patience to feel comfortable, especially when meeting new dogs at home or out on walks. When I get overwhelmed, my big bark can come out, and it sometimes gives the wrong first impression. What I really need is someone who can look past my loud voice and see how sweet and well intentioned I am. I want to make friends, I just need help getting through that first hello. Because of this, I would do best as an only dog or with a calm, confident female dog who is not bothered by my barking.
I will need a family who is willing to keep working with me after adoption on my manners around new dogs, my barking, and my nervousness. I am a happy, affectionate, enthusiastic boy who thrives on companionship, routine, and play. I am a true rescue dog who needs patience, guidance, and commitment, and in return I will give you my whole heart.
If you are looking for a goofy, cuddly companion who wakes up every day ready to love you, I might just be your perfect match.🐾💛
