Hi, my name is Finch, though my foster family lovingly calls me Finchie. I’m a 3 year old Sheepadoodle, weighing a little over 50lbs, and I’m a gentle, thoughtful boy who is still learning how safe and wonderful life can be.

Mornings are my favorite. I happily let you sleep in, but once you’re up, I’m all smiles and excitement, especially when breakfast rolls around at seven. After that, I enjoy light play with my foster dog brother. I’m still figuring out what playing means, so right now I bounce around and wave my arms in what my foster family says is the cutest way possible. I also love a sturdy chew toy and I’m very polite about sharing.

Humans are still new to me, but once I learned what pets were, they became my favorite thing. I like to observe at first, taking my time to feel safe, but when I’m ready I could sit with you for hours. I feel most comfortable in a calm, quiet home, since loud noises and lots of people can make me anxious. A peaceful household helps me build confidence.

My afternoons are for napping, often in my crate with the door open, though I’m starting to nap closer to my people as I feel braver. Evenings bring a little more play, dinner, and then a full night of rest. Routine is very important to me, especially as I continue recovering from a long medical journey that has limited my activity.

I need a home with another dog sibling to help me feel secure, a fenced yard, and patient parents with a flexible schedule. I do best with children over 12 who understand giving me space. I’m still learning leash skills, basic commands, and how to fully trust humans, so ongoing training and a commitment to my medical needs are essential. With patience, kindness, and consistency, I promise to be the sweetest, most loyal companion you could ask for.
