Hi, I'm Emerald Rose aka Emma! I'm a 1½-year-old, 11-pound Poodle/Bichon mix with beautiful blonde fur and a whole lot of love to give! I'm a sweet, affectionate little girl who loves being close to my people. Whether we're cuddling on the couch, going for a walk, or spending a quiet afternoon together, I'm happiest when I'm part of the family.

I'm a pretty laid-back girl with a playful side! I love chasing my toys, exploring the backyard, crunching on ice cubes, and occasionally getting the zoomies before bedtime. Once I've gotten my energy out, I'm ready to snuggle up and sleep. I'm crate trained, but I'm also perfectly happy curling up in bed with my favorite humans!

My days are pretty flexible. I enjoy morning walks, playtime, naps, and following my foster family around the house. I'm potty trained and know to wait by the back door when I need to go outside, so it's important that my family pays attention to my signals. I also walk well on a leash and know sit, stay, and come!

I'm a people-loving girl, but I can be a little cautious at first. It took me some time to warm up to the men in my foster home, and now we're great friends! I do best when people let me approach at my own pace. Sudden movements or being picked up unexpectedly can startle me, and I've made a couple of quick warning snaps when I felt uncomfortable. No contact was made, but I need a family who understands my boundaries and handles me gently.

I've done well with the children and dogs in my foster home, but because I can be sensitive to handling, I'll need a calm household with children ages 8 and older who understand how to respect a dog's space. If you have another dog, they must be under 30 pounds. My compatibility with cats is unknown.

I'm also a bit of a picky eater! Regular kibble isn't my favorite, so my foster family has been helping me with foods like chicken, sweet potatoes, and meal toppers. I'll need a family committed to maintaining an appropriate diet and finding what works best for me.

My ideal home will have a fenced yard, a parent who works from home or has a flexible schedule, and plenty of time for companionship. I can sometimes get anxious when separated from my people, so patience, gentle handling, and continued confidence-building will help me thrive.

I may be little, but I have so much love to give! If you're looking for a sweet, snuggly companion and are willing to give me the patience and understanding I need, I might just be your girl!
