Hi, I’m Drummer. I’m a little over a year old, about 18 pounds, and I’m a poodle mix with a soft heart and an even softer way of loving my people. I was found as a stray, but over the past couple of months I’ve been discovering what it means to feel safe, cared for, and truly part of a home. It turns out I really like this life.

I’m a low-to-medium energy kind of guy who would much rather curl up next to you than get into mischief. I enjoy my toys and a nice game of fetch, but my favorite part of the day is giving one big hug before bedtime and then sleeping peacefully beside my person. I’m naturally quiet, gentle, and very sensitive. Sudden loud noises can make me nervous, and certain sounds near my ears (like clips or Velcro) aren’t my favorite, but I’ve already made great progress with the help of kind, patient humans. Calm environments help me feel secure, and I truly thrive when life feels predictable and peaceful.

My days are simple and cozy. I start the morning with a walk around 7:30, then I’m happy resting nearby while you work, mixed with a few short walks throughout the day to stretch my legs and explore. I’m not crated and sleep through the night in bed without moving much at all—I just like being close. I can stay home alone for a couple of hours, but I do best when my person is around most of the time, especially someone who works from home and can reassure me that everything is okay.

I’m not a jumper or counter surfer, and I have lovely house manners. Car rides still make me nervous, so I feel safest when someone sits beside me to help me relax. Grooming took patience at first too, but I’ve built trust with a gentle groomer and would love to continue with someone consistent and kind. What I need most is a patient family who understands that sensitive dogs don’t just learn—they bloom. And when I bloom, I promise you’ll see the sweetest, most devoted little companion you could ever hope for.
