Hi! I’m Dopey, a 3–4-year-old, 60-pound Doodle with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a very serious appreciation for tennis balls and treats. Before Doodle Rock came along, I spent months in a shelter feeling pretty lonely. As the days went by, I started to wonder if maybe I’d been forgotten. But then my life changed. I landed in a foster home, and with a little time, love, and the comfort of having people to call my own, I’ve completely blossomed. My foster family says I’m the sweetest boy, and I’m inclined to agree. I’m friendly, affectionate, playful, and haven’t met a stranger yet. If you want a loyal best friend who will make you laugh, keep you company, and greet you like you’ve been gone for years—even if it was only five minutes—I might be your guy.

I LOVE being with my people. I’ll bring you my toys, follow you around like a furry shadow, soak up all the back scratches you’re willing to give, and happily climb into your lap despite being 60 pounds. I especially love fetch, tug-of-war, and wrestling with my human foster brother. And if you leave a sock unattended? I may volunteer to keep track of it for you.

Outside, I take my neighborhood patrol duties seriously. Geckos and lizards must be investigated, sunny spots must be thoroughly enjoyed, and suspicious noises must be reported. I may bark at passing dogs, squirrels, thunder, or loud trucks and motorcycles, but otherwise I’m a pretty easygoing gentleman.

I’m an early bird who likes to start my day around 5:00 AM with a potty break, breakfast, and playtime. During the workday, I’m a champ in my crate, and I also sleep peacefully there through the night. I’m learning to stand by the back door when I need to go outside, too.

I’m a smart boy who already knows “sit,” especially when treats are involved. Did I mention I LOVE treats? Because I really, really do. I’m still working on my leash manners, so I’d love a family who will keep helping me learn with patience and positive reinforcement. I’m also not a fan of having my ears touched and will usually just pull away to let you know.

At the end of the day, I’m happiest wherever my people are. After spending so long waiting for someone to choose me, I’ve learned just how wonderful it feels to belong. Now I’m ready for the best part: finding a family of my very own. I’ll play with you, cuddle with you, patrol the yard, sunbathe nearby, and make sure you never feel underappreciated when you come home.

- Children 12 years or older
- Family committed to daily playtime and exercise
- Flexible schedule
- Patience for continued Training
