Howdy, future family!
My name’s Dixie, and I’m a 25-pound terrier mix with a heart the size of Texas and a whole lot of spunk packed into this little body.

Don’t let my size fool you—I’m mighty! I’ve got big love to give, a playful spirit, and the fastest tail wag in the South. I live for belly rubs and will happily roll over any time you’re willing. I’ve got natural herding instincts, so I like to keep my people where I can see them—sometimes I even try to gently “organize” them with a little nip (I’m working on remembering that’s not the way to show affection).

I settle right into my foster family’s routine: we’re up at 6 a.m. for a potty break, then it’s time for my favorite thing in the whole wide world—breakfast. After that, it’s back to bed for a cozy rest and, you guessed it, more belly rubs. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. sharp, and you better believe I’m the fastest girl at the bowl. One last trip outside around 10 p.m., and then I snuggle up on the bed with my humans for a good night’s sleep.

I’m still learning a few manners—like not jumping up when my foster mom comes home (I just get so excited!). And yes, I sometimes “help” with laundry before it’s officially laundry day. But hey, I’m just trying to be useful!

I’m a rootin’, tootin’, affectionate little cowgirl who thrives on love, structure, and a bit of play. I’d do best in a home that understands herding breeds and can help me channel my instincts with positive guidance.

A quick note for my future family: I’m a clever girl and can dig under fences—especially if I can see through them! So, I’ll need a no-dig fence or a solid wood fence that goes into the ground to keep me safe and sound while I’m out exploring.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
- Having a fur sibling would be wonderful, but not a requirement.
- Children 12+
- Apartments or shared walls ok, as long as I get multiple walks in to redirect my energy!
- Flexible Schedule
- Commitment to HW+ knowledge. Flea and tick preventative a must!
- No dig fencing
