Hi there! My name is Carmella, but everyone calls me Mel. I’m a young black doodle, weighing in at a sturdy 50 pounds of curls and personality. I’ve officially moved past the tiny puppy stage, which means I’ve traded the teething for a perfectly matching curled tail that never stops wagging. I have plenty of happy, playful energy to share, but I’ve also mastered the art of the afternoon nap.

I’m what you’d call a total velcro dog. If you’re heading to the kitchen or just shifting on the couch, I’d really love to come too. I adore my toys and am a dedicated fetch enthusiast, though I’ll be honest—I occasionally forget that giving the ball back is part of the game. I also don’t quite realize how big I am, so I’d do best in a home with older kids who can handle my enthusiastic affection.

I’m quite the socialite. I’m curious about cats and do well with some of them, especially when introductions are slow and respectful. With dogs, I enjoy making new friends and settle in nicely once introductions are over, though I can be reactive on leash and may need a patient human to help me work through those exciting first moments.

My ideal day involves a lot of togetherness. I follow a simple routine of play, naps, and snacks, and I’m a great office assistant if you work from home. I live for car rides—especially if there’s a pup cup involved—and I’m a regular at dog-friendly patios where I can soak up attention from new people. While I’m a good girl in my crate when you’re out, my top choice for sleeping is anywhere close to my humans.

I already know my name and commands like “sit” and “come,” though “stay” is still a work in progress because I just want to be where you are. I’m looking for a patient teacher, gentle guidance, and a lifetime of head rubs. If you’re searching for a loving, playful, always-by-your-side kind of girl, I think we might be the perfect match.
