Please READ the bio and adoption requirements first to make sure you are a perfect fit BEFORE APPLYING.

Hi! My name is Balogun. I’m a nearly 70-pound fluffy boy with a gentle personality, a goofy puppy side, and a whole lot of love to give. I’m a people-oriented pup who is happiest when I get to be part of the family and know what my humans are up to.

I’m a sweet, affectionate, mild-mannered guy who bonds closely with my people. I love being near my humans and will happily follow you from room to room before settling in for a nap nearby. I get along great with other dogs and have done well around cats. I haven’t lived with children in my foster home, but I’ve had positive experiences with neighborhood kids on walks—I’ll calmly sit and let them pet me. I’m generally a pretty chill guy, although I may bark when I think something deserves your attention.

Most days, I’m surprisingly low-key for a young dog. I’m happy spending much of the day snoozing, hanging out near my people, and keeping an eye on whatever is happening around the house. I would love a home where someone works from home or is around much of the day, but I can also handle some independent time and have been fine alone outside my crate for up to about two hours. Once evening arrives, my puppy side tends to make an appearance—I may get the zoomies or decide it’s time to play! After that, I’m ready to settle back down with my people.

I’m still learning leash manners and can pull when I get excited, so I need someone willing to continue practicing with me. I’m also working on becoming a more confident, independent dog instead of automatically looking to my humans for reassurance and direction. Clear, consistent boundaries will be important for me—not because I don’t love affection (I REALLY do), but because structure will help me learn that I can confidently navigate the world too. I'm really great with dogs and humans that I know. I get excited to meet a new dog or stranger, and may wag my tail and bark at first. However, once I get comfortable I calm down. Like any young dog, I’ll need patience and consistency while I keep learning new skills.
