Hi there, my name is Ash. The vet thinks I’m about 2 years old, and I’m a handsome 45-pound poodle mix, though I’d probably be closer to 50 pounds once I’m fully filled out and feeling my best. I’m the kind of dog who bonds quickly and loves deeply. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who wants to be near you and part of your world, I’m your guy.

I’m very affectionate and I truly love my people. I do well in my crate and honestly don’t mind it at all, but I prefer when my human is within eyesight. I’m happiest when I know you’re close by. I’ve got a playful side too, and I absolutely love fetch, even if I’m still working on the whole “drop the ball” part. I also really enjoy puzzle toys and anything that involves hidden treats, because I’m smart and I like having a job to do.

My routine is pretty easy. I wake up around 6 or 7 in the morning and I’ll wait patiently in my crate until it’s time to start the day. Once I’m out, I love running around the yard, eating breakfast, and then doing a little more zooming before I take care of business. After that, I’m content to relax on the floor near my human while they work, just happy to be close. If you need to leave, I can hang out in my crate and do just fine.

Evenings are my favorite because that’s when the fun really starts. I’ll run around outside again, eat dinner, take care of business, and then I’m ready for fetch, a walk, or anything that gets me moving. I enjoy being active, but I also know how to settle down and just enjoy being with my person.

I’m great with kids ages 6 and up, and I get along really well with other dogs too. The only thing to know is that I can be a little protective of my food if another dog tries to sneak into my bowl, so I do best with respectful feeding boundaries and a home that understands I like my dinner to stay my dinner.

I’m still learning some manners, especially on leash. If a squirrel, rabbit, or cat shows up, I get very excited and you’ll need a good grip. I also sometimes jump when I’m happy, like when I wake up or when you come home, but I’m working hard on improving that because I want to be the best companion I can be.

- Flexible Schedule
- Patience for Training
