Hi there! My name is Abraham Lincoln, but you can call me "Abe!" I'm an almost 2 y/o poodle, weighing in at 44lbs.

I come from a rough past, having lived on the streets alone and hungry. But, DRR rescued me and my foster dad has been teaching me how to love and be loved! My foster would say I'm the most loving companion ever. All I want in life is to stay by your side and show you how much I appreciate the love you are giving me. I get along with most everyone, but I'm still very shy when I meet new people. It takes me a minute to adjust and feel safe around them. I like to play a lot with my dog siblings or foster dad. I'm a medium energy kinda fellow, so naps are my true passion. I will always want to be with you (and might even become part of your shadow!).

I sleep with my foster dad at night (actually, on him), and wake up when he wakes up. I go right outside in the morning to do my business then eat breakfast. After that, the day is ours to do whatever we want! I enjoy walks and I'm very smart. It's easy for me to adopt to your lifestyle and behavior. I pick up commands just by watching others- yes, you can applause!

I still have some things that I'm working on. I am gaining weight each week, as I was too thin when I arrived. I also struggle in crates and much prefer to roam free in the house, sit on the sofa, and sleep in the bed. Being smart means I'd also love it if my future family works with me to stimulate my brain with more commands and exercises. Everything I see is new to me, so I'm here and ready to learn!
