Please READ the bio and adoption requirements first to make sure you are a perfect fit BEFORE APPLYING.

Hi folks—Knox here. I’m a 5-year-old doodle with soft, golden curls that don’t shed (you’re welcome in advance). Not too long ago, life was pretty tough for me. When I was rescued, I was under 30 pounds and very weak. But look at me now—I’m a strong, healthy boy tipping the scales at over 50 pounds, and I couldn’t be prouder of how far I’ve come.

I’ll be honest… food is kind of my love language. After going without for so long, I get very excited about meals, snacks, crumbs—basically anything edible. I used to get lots of small meals while I was gaining weight (those were the days), but now I’m on a regular schedule with two meals a day. If you head into the kitchen, don’t be surprised if I’m right behind you, just in case you need help taste-testing. And fair warning—I’m a bit of a counter-checker, so best to keep food out of reach unless you’re planning to share.

Aside from my appreciation for snacks, I’m a pretty chill, easygoing guy. I love being around my people and will happily follow you from room to room—partly to keep you company, partly to make sure you’re not sneaking snacks without me. My days are simple and cozy: I’m up around 6:30 for a potty break and breakfast (very important), then I spend most of the day lounging near my foster mom while she works. I go outside with the other dogs throughout the day, have dinner around 6, and wind down for bed around 10, usually snoozing on the floor near my people.

I’m still working through a few things. I can get a little nervous when my people leave, but I’m learning that they always come back—and that helps me feel more secure. I’m not a fan of crates or being confined, and I’m just starting to learn leash skills, so I’ll need a patient person to help me keep building confidence. I’ve also been through heartworm treatment and had to take it easy for a while, so I’m still easing into a more active lifestyle.

My foster family says I’m a total trooper with a huge heart, and I really just want to love and be loved. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin (and maybe share a snack or two), I might just be your perfect match.
