Please READ the bio and adoption requirements first to make sure you are a perfect fit BEFORE APPLYING.

Hi, my name is Wilder. I’m a young, 45-pound Sheepadoodle, and I wear a soft smile these days because the hardest parts of my life are finally behind me. I came from a breeder surrender and didn’t know what love, safety, or comfort felt like at first. Warm beds, gentle voices, and kind hands were all brand new to me. Thanks to my foster family, I’m learning that this is what life is supposed to be like—and I’m slowly becoming a very devoted side-kick.

I can be timid, especially around new people, but every day my confidence grows. My foster mom, dad, and fur-siblings are showing me that the world isn’t such a scary place. I adore my foster dog siblings and learn so much just by watching them. Once I feel safe, my sweet personality shines through in quiet, meaningful ways.

Walks are one of my favorite things now, and I’m very proud of how nicely I’ve learned to walk on a leash. During the day, I’m an excellent coworker and nap peacefully in my bed beside my foster mom while she works. I like being close, even if I’m not quite brave enough yet to ask for affection—I’m getting there. I love praise and really want to do the right thing, especially when you tell me I’m a good boy.

I thrive on routine and predictability. My perfect day includes a morning potty break (sometimes with bonus zoomies), breakfast, and a walk to shake out my wiggles. After that, I’m happy to snooze while you work. I’ll need a midday potty break, and while I know how to use a doggie door, I feel safest when my humans come outside with me. Evenings are for dinner, another walk, or watching my foster sister chase the ball while I try my best to keep up. Before bed, I love settling into my dog bed to relax with you. I sleep through the night in my crate and don’t even need the door closed—it’s my safe place.

I’m still building confidence, so I’ll need a forever family who understands that trust takes time. I would do best with another confident dog and people who are patient, consistent, and kind. I may take a little longer to learn new things, but once I understand what you’re asking, I give it my all. I don’t love having the crate door shut, but I happily choose it as my retreat when I need comfort and security.

I may not be the dog who rushes up to strangers, but I am the dog who will quietly choose you once I know I’m safe. If you believe that small victories matter, that trust is earned, and that gentle love can be powerful, I might be the perfect match for you. I promise to keep trying every day, to meet you with my soft heart, and to be loyal once I know I’m home for good.
