Hi, I’m Nellie — a 38-pound bundle of goofy energy and nonstop snuggles. I’m a little girl with a big heart, and I wake up every day ready to play, explore, and love my people with my whole self.

I truly believe everyone I meet wants a hug! I can be very bouncy with my happy enthusiasm, which is why I do best in a home with kids 10 or older who understand my excited spirit. I’m a total Velcro dog. If you stand up, I’m up. If you walk into another room, I’m right behind you. I love being close, soaking up belly rubs, and melting into your lap whenever possible.

I also have plenty of zoomies to burn, so I’m happiest in an active household that enjoys staying busy, getting outside, and making room for a dog who wants to be part of everything. A fenced yard is a must for me because running, playing, and getting my wiggles out is one of my favorite things. My days are the perfect mix of activities and naps. Mornings start with breakfast, a potty break, and either a walk or backyard playtime with my foster dog sibling. After some fun, I crash hard. I do best with enrichment like bones, chew toys, and peanut butter treats to keep my busy mind happy and prevent boredom.

I’m still learning polite leash manners — I can be a bit zig-zaggy on walks and may bark when I see other dogs. I would do great with someone patient who enjoys training and helping me build confidence. I like most dogs and people, but I can get a little nervous meeting new friends. Slow, proper introductions help me feel safe, and I’ll need someone gentle and understanding to work through my nervousness. I would love another dog sibling to play with, though it’s not required. I do best with a flexible schedule since long stretches alone aren’t my favorite. I’m great about going in my crate, but I may bark a bit if I’m feeling left out.

- Children 10 or older preferred (I tend to not know how big I am)
- Active family
- Flexible Schedule
- Patience while I continue my training, as I’m more puppy than adult
- Fenced in Yard
