Hi! I’m Roo, a tall, fluffy, wiggly poodle mix girl about a year old and 45 pounds of curiosity, affection, and long legged energy. I do not shed, I love being close to my people, and even though I was found as a stray, I have been adjusting to house life really well and learning new routines every day.

Each morning, I pop out of my crate, head outside for a potty break, then come in ready for breakfast and a fun play session with my foster dog sibling. I love fetch, exploring the yard, and getting my zoomies out, and once I have burned off some energy, I am all about cuddles and being near my people.

During the week, I spend part of the day in my crate while my foster mom is at the office, and I handle that routine like a champ. When she gets home, I am excited for a long walk, playtime, or just hanging out together before settling in for the evening.

I am still very much a young pup, which means I am learning my manners as I go. I am tall enough to see what is happening on the counters, and sometimes curiosity gets the best of me. I am also working on keeping my paws on the floor, walking more politely on leash, and remembering that not everything is a toy. When I get excited, especially for walks or outdoor time, I can be jumpy and a little mouthy, but I am eager to learn and respond well to consistency and positive guidance.

I love people and do well with kids, happily soaking up attention and affection. Because I am a big, enthusiastic girl who does not always realize her size, I would be happiest in a home with older kids who can enjoy my playful energy. I absolutely love other dogs and would thrive with a confident canine sibling to play with and learn from. Cats are not a good match for me.

I am alert and attentive and will let you know when someone is near the yard or door, but inside the house I am gentle, affectionate, and content being part of the family. I truly just want to be included and loved.

What I am looking for is a patient, active family who is excited to continue my training and help me grow into the amazing dog I am meant to be. I have so much heart, a sweet personality, and a strong desire to please. I just need someone willing to guide me.
