Hi there, I’m Zella. I’m a 65-pound cuddlebug with a soft heart, and I’m hoping to find a family who will love me for the gentle girl I am.

When I first arrived at my foster home, the world felt big and a little scary, but with time and patience I’ve learned that people can be kind, and I’ve started to let my real personality peek through. I may seem shy when we first meet, but once I trust you, you’ll see a sweet, loyal side of me that I save for the people I feel safe with. I get along wonderfully with other dogs, and my two puppy friends have helped show me how to play and explore, so I’d really love a home with a canine sibling to guide me.

One of my favorite things is carrying soft squeaky toys around like treasures, then curling up with them in my crate. I’m proud to say I’m crate trained, and it’s my cozy little retreat when I need a moment. But once I know you, I’m happiest stretched out nearby, quietly keeping you company. My days usually start early with breakfast and a quick trip outside, then I settle in close to my foster mom while she works. I like to step out a few times to sniff around, though I usually don’t need to potty again until later in the afternoon. Evenings mean dinner and a walk. I’m still learning the whole leash thing, and sometimes it makes me a bit nervous, but I’m getting braver every day.

I’m also working hard to understand which things are toys and which are shoes, because I really do want to make my people proud.
