Hi, my name is Cuddles, and I’m a 3½ year old female poodle mix weighing 52 pounds. With my soft, wavy to curly sable coat in shades of dark and light gray, I’m as beautiful on the outside as I am on the inside.

I’m past the puppy stage of chewing on everything, but I’m still young enough to enjoy playing, exploring, and having fun. My foster family says I’m the perfect balance of playful and laid back. I love spending time outside with my foster dog siblings, playing with toys and balls, and helping keep watch as a proud member of the squirrel patrol team. I also get along wonderfully with cats and other dogs.

I’m a very sweet girl, but I can be a little shy when meeting new people. If someone approaches me too quickly, I may step away at first, but with a kind voice and a little patience, I’ll come back with a wagging tail. I had a difficult start in life and wasn’t shown much affection, so I’m still learning that people can be safe, loving, and kind. Every day, my confidence grows a little more, and my tail wags a little more often.

My days are simple and peaceful. I usually wake up between 7 and 8 in the morning for breakfast and some time outside. I enjoy relaxing with my family throughout the day and am perfectly content just being nearby. I’m completely house trained, doggy door trained, and have never had an accident indoors. In the evening, I enjoy dinner, some outdoor time, and then settling in for a good night’s sleep. I’m crate trained, but I’m such a well behaved girl that I often sleep on a dog bed next to my foster parents.

Because I’ve spent so much of my life learning to trust, my foster family has taken things slowly with training. I’m already pretty good about coming when called, and I walk beautifully on a leash. With patient, understanding people who will continue to help me build confidence, I know I’ll blossom into an incredibly devoted companion.
