Let me introduce myself—my name is Junibee, though you can call me Juni. A true lady never reveals her age, but I’m somewhere between 2 and 4 years old. I’m a graceful 40-pound Poodle mix with soft, curly fur that doesn’t shed, which I hear is quite the bonus. You might notice my tail is a little shorter than usual—an injury that has been fixed—but I like to think it just gives me a bit of extra charm.
I’m a playful, affectionate girl who enjoys life’s simple joys: walks around the neighborhood, wrestling with my big foster dog brother, and curling up beside my people for evening snuggles. I’ve also taken quite a shine to my foster mom’s young granddaughter—we have the best time together, though I can get a little mouthy when I’m overly excited. I’m working on that.
I’m polite around furniture and wait to be invited up. I can sleep in a crate if I must, but I’d much rather curl up on the bed with the other dogs. I don’t mind cats—big or small—and even birds don’t ruffle my feathers. When guests visit, I greet them sweetly by placing my paw on their leg, asking for a little affection.
I have a clever streak, especially when it comes to pills—I'll take the treat and somehow leave the medicine behind. I'm also not the biggest fan of most treats, so I prefer praise and pets as rewards. Loud voices and raised objects like umbrellas scare me, and when I feel overwhelmed, I tend to shrink into myself or may even have a little accident. I hope you'll understand I'm still learning the world is safe.
My ideal day starts with a walk—getting outside early helps me burn off some energy. Later, I like to nap under the dining table, then wrestle with my 110-pound foster doodle brother, then nap again. I’ve got energy to spare and sometimes get the zoomies, especially in the afternoon. Squirrel chasing in the yard is a passion of mine, but I’m trying to learn that leashes and wildlife don’t mix. I’m also working on staying calm when we pass other dogs on walks.
All in all, I’m a fun, snuggly, slightly quirky girl with lots of love to give. I’d thrive with a family who understands my sensitive side and appreciates both my playfulness and my need for calm. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful companion with just the right amount of sass—I might be your girl.
