Hi, I'm Toulouse, but my foster mom calls me Toodles. I’m a 2-year-old female, Poodle mix (my foster thinks im a poodle/old English Sheepdog mix), weighing about 50 pounds. After a rough start, I’m slowly learning that life can be good and people can be kind.

I’m a gentle, sweet soul who craves calm and security. I stick close to my foster mom and feel safest when I know she’s near. I’m still unsure about the small humans in the house, but I stay calm around them. I get along well with my laid-back foster dog sister and sometimes nap beside her. I am not yet ready to play with my foster sister but it is nice to have her near! When I’m outside in the sunshine, I show little flashes of playfulness—I have more of that waiting to come out once I’m comfortable.

My days are quiet and predictable, which I love. I go potty first thing in the morning, eat in my crate, and nap nearby while my foster mom works from home. We take short walks in the drive way or sit outside together in the afternoon. I eat dinner at 7 and settle into my dog bed around 9.

I’m still learning the basics—potty training, leash walking, and commands are all works in progress. I sometimes get scared and need help going outside so my foster mom will pick me up! I also get anxious when I can’t see my foster mom, even if she’s just in another room. But I’m trying, and every day I get a little braver.

I’d do best in a calm, very patient home with people who understand that I need a lot of time to come out of my shell. I’m good with respectful kids and friendly dogs, though I haven’t met any cats yet. My energy level is low, but my foster mom believes there’s more joy waiting just under the surface.

My foster mom says I am truly special girl. With love, consistency, and a lot of patience, I know I'll blossom into the loyal, loving companion i'm meant to be. I would do best with a rescue savvy adopter! I am still learning how to be a dog and will need a lot of support when transitioning into my forever family.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
- Would prefer a clam, confident dog sibling to show me the ropes!
- No children under age 6
- Calm Household
- No Apartments or shared walls
- Fenced in Yard
- Work From Home Parent or Flexible Schedule
- Patience for training
- Must be able to lift a 50-pound dog, as she is still learning to walk on a leash

Toulouse is fully vaccinated, HW-, sterilized and microchipped.
