Hi, future parent! I’m Sierra—also known as Pretty Girl or Sweet Girl—a 3.5-year-old, 55 lb Standard Poodle with a gentle heart and so much love to give. I'm looking for a forever home where I can feel safe, relaxed, and loved.
I can be shy and anxious at first and startle easily, but with patience and calm energy, I warm up quickly. Once I trust you, I’ll be nudging in for head scratches, belly rubs, and gazing into your eyes with love. I like to snuggle close and will happily claim my spot by your side. I can get a little jealous if my foster brother gets attention and may let out a low growl—but don’t worry, I don’t bite. My foster mom says there’s plenty of love to go around, and I’m learning to share.
I thrive on routine and am a champion sleeper—daytime naps, nighttime snoozes, and yes, a little snoring! I feel safe sleeping in any room or bed in the house and will come to you when I’m ready for affection. My day starts around 6 a.m. with a potty break (I get distracted by smells, so a reminder helps), followed by breakfast and then a long nap. I love backyard playtime with my foster parents—it’s quickly become my favorite part of the day! I’ve recently discovered toys, and wow, they’re fun! I get snacks during the day, dinner around 5 p.m., and a bedtime treat before I settle in for the night.
When my humans are away, I don’t need a crate—I relax at home with my foster brother. We like watching the world from the window and waiting patiently for everyone to return. I’ve tried counter surfing for snacks (with no luck so far), and while I don’t quite know how to play with my foster brother yet, I enjoy his company. I’m a great eater, food-motivated, and I already know how to sit—learning to shake by watching my brother! I’m still working on leash skills and can be a bit nervous with new sounds. I’m most comfortable with women and need a little time to warm up to men. I haven’t met kids yet, so a calm, quiet environment is best while I continue to build trust.
