Hi, I’m Duke! I’m a 10-month-old Poodle mix, weighing in at a robust 50 pounds, and I’m bursting with energy and personality!

I’m a smart cookie—when I can focus, that is! Sometimes I get a bit overexcited and need a little extra help to calm down. Thankfully, with some meds and a bit of training, I’m already feeling much better and able to listen to my foster mom more. I think regular long walks or jogs would be just perfect for me to burn off my boundless energy!

Here’s a peek into my daily routine: I start the day with a quick potty break outside and some fun playtime before breakfast. I eat from a puzzle bowl to help me slow down a bit, then it’s play, nap, play, nap, and repeat until dinner. I get along well with most of my doggy pals here, but I can get a bit protective over my food. So, foster mom feeds me in my crate to give me a sense of security. After dinner, it’s more playtime until bedtime, and I usually settle into my crate easily, especially if I get a treat! I sleep through the night like a champ.

I’m still polishing up on my commands, but I’ve got “sit” and “wait” down pretty well. I’m good on a leash and a pro in the car! I’m also crate trained, potty trained with a dog door, and harness trained.

All in all for my forever home, I’m looking for an active family with another playful dog sibling who can keep up with my energy. I’d love a home with a fenced-in yard for zoomies and a work-from-home parent with a flexible schedule. I do best in a house with no shared walls and would be happiest with older kids, 10 or up. A bit of patience for my training and I will be the best boy.
