Hi, I'm Cliff! I’m a 5-year-old, 25-pound male Adoradoodle! My foster mom thinks I’m a Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix, I just know I’m adorable! I’m a total cuddly teddy bear and also shed very little - lucky you!
 
I am low energy and don’t need lots of activity. I do LOVE going on walks and sniffing and peeing on everything (I’m a dude!). I really like to cuddle, especially when you give me belly rubs. I rarely bark at people and other dogs when I see them, but I always want to say hi! I’m dog friendly but I’m not too interested in them. I prefer to keep to myself, be lazy, and cuddle my people.
 
My day starts around 7:30am when I eat breakfast and go potty. Then I come back in and go back to sleep. Afterwards, I usually play, nap, or chew on a bone and follow my people around. If you need to leave during the day, I usually hang out on my bed and nap. I do great if you have to leave for short periods as long as I have my toys. In the evening, I will go on my second walk of the day before eating my dinner. Then, I chill with my people and doze off. I'll go for a final potty break around 10pm then its bed time in my foster parents' bedroom!
 
I’m still working on my leash skills (I like to go my own way!), but I understand “sit” if you have a treat. I am crate and potty trained, but I am used to going out at least 3 times a day. I have a marking habit when I go somewhere new, so a belly band is handy and acts as a shield. I am protective of my food (resource guarding), so please don’t nudge me or push me aside if I'm eating or working on a bone. I may nip you if I feel threatened. If I’m doing something wrong, please be gentle with me while I get to know you. If I growl or my body tenses up, give me time to relax before trying again. I have a history of being protective over my main caretaker and have nipped at others before, so a solo owner is best!

I'm currently about 5-8 pounds overweight and am working on my summer bod. I need a family to keep working on this with me and keep my weight healthy in the future. I've had a rough life living on the streets, so I do have some quirks, but I promise with some patience, love, and continued work, I will love you forever and be the best cuddle companion and couch potato you could ever imagine!
 
Here’s what I’m looking for:
- No children under age 10
- Rescue dog experience. I’ve had a rough life and need someone to continue working on my behavioral needs.
- A single parent home highly preferred.
- A family willing to help me lose weight and keep my weight at a healthy range in the future
