Hi! My name is Louis V, but most people just call me Louis. I am a 1.5-year-old, 55lbs, male chocolate labradoodle. I have a troubled past but I’m working really hard to keep it in my past and trust again. My foster mom says I’m making great progress!
I am sweet, smart, cuddly, and attach to my humans quickly. I like to stick right by my human’s side, and I struggle to let you leave – EVER. Apparently not everyone loves a loud greeting and a strong bear hug? I just get so excited to meet new people! Basically, I'm just a baby in a big dog body.
From the time we wake (bright and early), I am right by my foster mom. We go on long walks to the park in the mornings. Then I’m happy to lay by her side while she’s busy for a couple of hours. Generally, I prefer an active life. Lots of walks to the park and playtime in the backyard makes me a happy boy.
Sometimes I overdo it when I’m really excited, but I respond well to calm but firm commands and training tactics to snap me out of it and remind me of my manners. My humans must be in eyesight at all times, or I will let you know I’m unhappy – LOUDLY. However, once they leave the house, I settle quickly and I’m never destructive. Like I mentioned, my energy peaks when meeting new people as well as transitions that involve a car or leash. But I’m learning how to control my energy, ease my anxiety, and listen to the basic commands I’m learning. I’ve made great progress, but patience, continued leash training, and careful socialization is a must with me!

- Active, WFH family
- Accessible backyard
