Dumaine‘s Story

Hi! The humans call me Dumaine and I’m from southern Texas. I’m around 6-years-old and 15-pounds, and definitely still have a lot of energy. I love getting my back scratched, especially near my tail, and I love cuddle time with both of my foster parents. I do really well in the crate, if you have to put me in there, but I do prefer to roam freely. Don’t worry though, give me some time to warm up to my new environment and I’m a really good boy that can be trusted to be alone. I usually entertain myself with tennis balls, plush dog toys, and braided dog chews. My foster parents say I’m a really good boy because I only play with and chew on the things I am supposed to, which I guess is good because they reward me with treats and petting sessions. They brought some smaller humans around last week that wanted to grab and kiss me. I licked their little faces and we played around for a bit. I wouldn’t mind having some of those around to play with. When my foster parents take me for walks they say I get too excited when I see other dogs and I usually spring towards them. I’m working on that though and am still working on personal boundaries with other dogs once I finally get to play with them. I love treats and can perform some basic commands like I know how to sit, shake (give paw), play fetch and am working on “stay”. Overall, my foster parents say that I am the best dog they have taken care of this year and they say I’m as cute as a button, but I will let you be the judge of that one. I hope to meet you soon!
