My name is Dixie! I’m a 2-year-old female terrier mix and weigh 26 pounds! I have one floppy ear and one pointy ear that makes me unique. I do shed a little, but frequent brushing makes it manageable. 

I’m pretty laid back and love to chill outside in the sun, my bed, or even the doormat. I’m patient and good with kids but I do prefer being with adults. I love to play fetch with my human siblings, going for walks or even playing other dogs too. I’m more of an alpha dog so if I had a dog sibling he/she must be okay with that. I’m a super smart girl and always willing to learn - especially when I know it’s time for a car ride.  

I usually wake up around 7:30 and go for a walk, then have my breakfast. I get a food coma and take a nap while everyone gets ready for the day. My walks are pretty routine throughout the day, but I play fetch in between for some exercise time. I have my dinner around 7 pm and go for another walk around 10 pm before I call it a night in my crate. I sleep well in my crate and like taking most of my naps in it too. 

I’m a fast learner and have mastered sit and stay, but could learn more. I’m very well behaved on walks and don’t pull unless I see a squirrel - they excite me! I’m potty trained, but prefer to go while I’m out on walks. I don’t bark at other dogs or people, in fact my foster parents say that I’ve only barked 3 times since they’ve had me. I’m crate trained and behave well when left alone so I don’t need it. I don’t enjoy bath time but I’m a trooper when I do need one. 

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: 
- No children under age 6 - I really prefer adults
- Dog sibling not required. If I have one, he/she must be ok with me being the alpha.
