Hi there - my name is Cranberry. My foster family describes me as a resilient, rather small 1-year-old poodle mix weighing 35lbs, with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines brightly! Despite a rough start in life, I have been showing incredible strength and determination. I am fully recovered from my past medical issues which were caused mostly by neglect. I am now spayed and my hair is growing back nicely in most of the places where I’d lost it.
Not to brag but my foster mom says I am a true bundle of joy. You can tell because my tail is always wagging. I’m always in a good mood and I am eager to play and socialize with other humans and dogs. I have a good dose of energy but not overwhelmingly so. Here are some of the things I love:
cuddles (my love language is physical touch)
long walks, food (I am not picky!)
playing with my doodle siblings in the yard.
my toys (I have a basket full of them) and they keep me occupied but I do share.
My routine is as follows; I love my crate and sleep soundly through the night. I can’t wait for my humans to get up around 6-7am so I can eat my breakfast (I eat like a horse!). Then my foster mom takes me out on a walk with one of my younger doodle siblings. I love walks in the neighborhood and particularly when I spot a squirrel or a bunny. Then I get all excited!
I lounge around the house during the day watching my foster mom work and I like to take occasional strolls in the backyard.
When my humans are done with their work they have time to play with me and work on my commands. I am smart and receptive to instructions though I can get easily distracted (that’s because I’m still a young pup). This said, all I want is to please and for my family to be proud of my progress. After dinner I usually go on another long walk and then it is time for cuddles. Laying across my foster mom’s lap, I feel safe and quickly fall asleep. I was told I even snore a little, I guess that’s because I feel so safe and comfy now.
Love - play - rest - eat - sleep and repeat are my main daily activities.
My foster family says that I am now ready to look for a loving forever family who will cherish me as much as I will cherish them. I need to be surrounded by patient humans who will take the time to work with me on my training. As I said I am still young and need to learn to be the perfectly behaved dog.
