Copper‘s Story

Hi my name is Copper and my foster parents say I’m the cutest Goldendoodle around (1 year and 1 month old, 50 pounds)! They tell me that they love my copper colored coat, especially my white patch of fur on my chest and how my tail curls at the end. When I’m really happy my tongue hangs out of the side of my mouth to get ready to give kisses to my family! You’ll also know I’m excited because my tail goes “thunk thunk thunk” on whatever is closest to me!!

I LOVE to play!! I’m still a puppy, so I have energy to use throughout the day. My foster mom and dad are teaching me to play fetch with tennis balls and frisbees. They tell me I’m learning really quickly, because I’ve gotten so good at bringing the ball back to them! I’m ready to show off my new leash training skills, too! My mom says I’ve gotten so much better at staying on the trail and following her lead while we walk! Though, I still like to sniff around, but respond really well with reminders that I need to keep up and follow along. Since I’m still young, I’m still learning not to jump on my family and counters. I’m trying really hard to get better about this and my mom says I’ve already shown improvement on listening to her say “off”. Even though I love to play, I REALLY just love being around my family! During the day, I’m happy to lounge around or take a nap right by someone’s feet. If I’m really lucky, my foster mom might let me sleep up on the couch with her if I’ve been a good boy! I like to be right where my family is, so if they move around I might follow them. I promise I’ll be a good boy though and let you get your stuff done!

I love being told I’m a good boy! When my mom or dad tells me I’m a good boy I will lean up against them to show them I love them back or put my neck down to let them know I would like some neck/head scratches. I’m a really smart dood, too. I respond to my name, have learned to “sit” and am working on laying “down”.

I have really liked playing with my foster fur brother. We love to play in the yard together, play tug of war with each other, and chase each other, too. I would love another dog to play with, but if not- that’s ok! I am ready to love my new family! My mom has been telling me that there are these other animals called cats. I haven’t ever been around them before, but I’m sure I could love them, too!

I’m ready for a furever family to love me unconditionally, because I have a LOT of love to give back to them!!
