Carl‘s Story

PATIENCE, LOVE & UNDERSTANDING

To say he was neglected, would be an understatement. He was scheduled to be euthanized, due to his reactive behavior and poor condition. We wanted, and needed to give Carl a second chance at life. Life away from the abuse he endured by his humans who failed him. We couldn’t allow those in his past to hinder his future. We invested nearly $2,000 in Carl because he deserved another chance, and his past “family” certainly didn’t deserve him. Carl is young, around 1.5years old, and has been through utter hell in his short, precious life. It angers us, but what it did to Carl is much deeper than what we can ever feel or imagine. We are not looking for a family to adopt Carl, we are looking for his HERO. We are looking for someone who will give him as much time as he needs to continue his rehabilitation. Because of Carl’s emotional state, we do have very strict adoption guidelines. We need a very calm home with no children. Carl is fine around dogs, but they must be calm - he is fine with cats. Carl is still emotionally broken. He is still learning to trust, and this family must understand and give him time. He is still cautious of being touched, picked up and walked. He gets startled when he hears loud or unfamiliar noises, and when he is introduced to new environments. Carl is 1.5 years old, and 15lbs, potty & crate trained.
