Foster Application

I understand and abide by Doodle Rock Rescue's Foster-to-Adopt Policy:

First time foster families are NOT ELIGIBLE TO ADOPT (or "foster fail").

Second-time (and beyond) foster families are able to apply to adopt their foster animal, pending approval by the Adoption Team. Temporary fosters DO NOT count towards the rule. The foster family must foster from intake through adoption to be able to apply for their foster dog as a foster-to-adopt applicant.

I understand that NO EXCEPTIONS are made to the Foster-to-Adopt Policy.

AGREEMENT

I, {NAME OF FOSTER}, make the above statements and voluntarily enter into this agreement to provide a temporary home as a foster caregiver to any animals Doodle Rock Rescue may temporarily place in my care.
◾ I understand that I may be required to provide foster care to my foster animal for an extended and indefinite period of time.
◾ I agree that I am over 21 years of age.
◾ I understand that Doodle Rock Rescue provides no guarantee as to the health of my foster animal and that my foster animal may have medical needs, socialization problems, and may not be housebroken.
◾ I understand that Doodle Rock Rescue does not always know the temperament of incoming dogs. It is our responsibility to limit or isolate our foster dog from children, other dogs, cats, etc. until I/we know how our foster dog will interact with those listed. If at anytime we feel our foster dog is a concern, it is our responsibility to contact an authorized Doodle Rock Rescue representative to remove the dog.
◾ I AGREE I WILL NOT ARRANGE FOR ANY VETERINARY CARE FOR MY FOSTER ANIMAL WITHOUT CONSENT OF AN AUTHORIZED DOODLE ROCK RESCUE REPRESENTATIVE, LEIGH SENDRA.
◾ I understand that my foster animal may have training needs and Doodle Rock Rescue is not responsible for any damage to my personal property. It is my responsibility to crate my foster dog when an adult is not present to monitor/address behavior issues.
◾ I understand that I may only have my foster animal temporarily, and at any point, the foster animal can be pulled and placed in a new home at Doodle Rock Rescue's discretion.
◾ I agree that I am fostering this animal for Doodle Rock Rescue, and that I do not have any right of ownership over my foster animal. I further agree that Doodle Rock Rescue’s rights are superior to mine.
◾ If I am planning to move at any time during the period when I am housing a foster animal, I agree to contact Doodle Rock Rescue prior to my move and provide Doodle Rock Rescue with my new contact information. I understand that Doodle Rock Rescue has the right to request the return of my foster animal based on my change of residence, and agree that I will surrender my foster animal to Doodle Rock Rescue immediately upon request.
◾ If at any point I can no longer, or do not want to continue to provide care and shelter for my foster animal, I agree to contact Doodle Rock Rescue and arrange for the return of my foster animal back to Doodle Rock Rescue.
◾ I will not transfer possession or custody of my foster animal to any other person at any time, except for temporary, short-term possession for the purpose of vet care, grooming, or a similar previously-authorized circumstance.
◾ I agree to contact Doodle Rock Rescue with any and all questions or concerns about my foster animal or the Foster Care Program as well as with updated contact information.
◾ I agree that if I refuse or fail to comply with any provision of this agreement, Doodle Rock Rescue has the right to terminate this agreement and also has the right to the immediate return of my foster animal. I further consent to provide Doodle Rock Rescue access to my premises if necessary to facilitate the return.
